As the Cyprus Turkish Journal of Psychiatry and Psychology, we are pleased to announce the publication of our September 2026 issue. The world is full of suffering. Every day, we face disasters that affect human lives. Wars, economic crises, and natural disasters impact our lives daily and leave deep wounds in many people. Following recent earthquakes, the maritime accident that occurred a few days ago in Northern Cyprus has caused deep sorrow across the Eastern Mediterranean. People in the Middle East, in particular, have witnessed major events throughout human history. Above all, the wars in this region, which continue to this day, have left people under their effects for generations. The human losses in this region can also trigger other traumatic events of the past. People who recently lost loved ones in an earthquake can now face a maritime tragedy. Traumas are triggered, and mental distress follows, affecting people. These events once again highlight the importance of not only physical aid but also psychological support for those trying to survive the disaster. The importance of psychological emergency assistance becomes even more apparent. Mental health services and support are needed at any time and in any situation, confronting everyone with this reality. We must continue to develop mental health science and practice to better serve humanity, because this field remains crucial to human health. In this sense, we, as a journal, will continue to contribute to scientific developments in mental health. Our journal continues to hold the position of the journal with the highest impact factor across all fields in Northern Cyprus. Based on the latest Web of Science data, we are pleased to see the Journal Impact Factor (JIF) increase from 0.5 to 15.8 percentile. In Scimago, with a value of 0.215, it ranks first among Turkish journals in Clinical Psychology and second in the Middle East region. We thank everyone who contributed to the publication of the June 2026 issue of the Cyprus Turkish Journal of Psychiatry and Psychology.
