Bu heterojen grubun özelliklerinin tanımlanması, hizmet planlaması ve hedefe yönelik müdahaleler açısından önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, bir şehir hastanesi acil servisinde psikiyatri konsültasyonu istenen hastalarda sosyodemografik/klinik özellikler ile psikiyatri servisine yatış ve tedavi reddinin belirleyicileri incelenmiştir. Retrospektif ve tanımlayıcı tasarımdaki çalışmaya, 6 Ekim 2022–1 Mart 2024 arasında acilden psikiyatri bölümüne konsülte edilen, 18 yaş ve üzeri 2146 olgu dâhil edilmiştir. Veriler hastane kayıtlarından toplanmış; tanımlayıcı istatistikler ve çok değişkenli lojistik regresyon analizleri ile değerlendirilmiştir. Başvuruların %53,9’u kadındır; konsültasyonların %70,7’si mesai dışı saatlerde gerçekleşmiştir. En sık konsültasyon nedeni intihar girişimi (%21,0) olup, girişimlerin %81,1’i ilaç alımıdır. En yaygın tanılar psikotik bozukluk, depresif bozukluk ve anksiyete bozukluğudur. Hastaların %4,5’i psikiyatri servisine yatırılmış, %5,6’sı ise tedavi reddi nedeniyle taburcu edilmiştir. Psikotik bozukluk, mani/hipomani döneminde bipolar bozukluk ve ilaçla intihar girişimi yatış olasılığını artırırken, ilaçsız izlem yatış olasılığını azaltmıştır. Tedavi reddi, psikiyatrik tanı öyküsü belirsiz olanlarda artmış, tanısı bilinenlerde azalmıştır.
