This study explored the role of Perceived role clarity and perceived organizational support (POS) as predictors of organizational commitment among IT employees in Delhi NCR region of India. A cross-sectional survey design was employed, sampling 450 IT professionals, comprising 130 females and 320 males. The sample size was calculated through power analysis using G* Power software. The participants completed three standardized instruments measuring the key variable of interest. The findings revealed that perceived organizational support is a significant predictor of organizational commitment among IT employees in India, as indicated by the statistical results (F(1,448) = 275.48; p<0.01), with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.63 and an explained variance (R2) of 0.40. Additionally, Role clarity was also found to significantly predict organizational commitment (F(1,448) = 126.24; p<0.01), with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.48 and an explained variance (R2) of 0.23. These results align with existing literature, which suggests that higher levels of perceived organizational support are associated with lower turnover rates. The study’s outcomes underscore the importance of enhancing perceived organizational support within the workplace. It is recommended that policymakers and human resource departments implement strategies to foster a supportive organizational environment and ensure role clarity within organization. Such measures could potentially enhance employee retention and strengthen organizational commitment.
